This program exceeds the State of Indiana requirements for IFSAC certification which can then be exchanged for DOD requirements.
Designed for company officers and other fire/rescue service personnel responsible for conducting periodic company level or small unit training.
The material contained in this course provides the information called for by the NFPA 1041 Standard 2002 Edition and complies with Fire Instructor I IFSAC/DOD requirements. This course meets IFSAC/DOD Standards as an internationally certified Fire Instructor I.
The emphasis of this course is teaching principles and techniques applicable to in-service fire and rescue service skills training. The course meets objectives of NFPA Standard 1041(2002), Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, Instructor I.
Students will be required to present a thirty-minute teaching assignment from a prepared teaching outline in class to an independent evaluator.
Students will be required to take a written exam with a pass/fail of 70% or higher for successful completion of this course. Teaching assignment topics will be given on the first day of class. Local, state and military authorities set pre-requisites. National Certification exams and practical objectives are handled through the Indiana Board of Firefighter Personnel Standards and Education.
