Military Fire Training for Fire Officer II TrainingThis is a contract program only!
This program exceeds the State of Indiana requirements for IFSAC certification which can then be exchanged for DOD requirements. Fire Officer II requires a pre-requisite of Fire Officer I This program is based on the fourth edition of IFSTA Company Officer and will fulfill requirements for meeting NFPA Standard 10211021 Fire Officer Professional Qualifications 2003 Edition. A unique blend of instructor experience and fire officer fields serves as a backdrop for this program. Actual case histories and other experience related situations assist the student in understanding the course objectives. Upon completion of the basic course requirements, students will be eligible for DOD and/or National Certification (IFSAC) as a Fire Officer II, provided a final exam score of 70% or higher is achieved and course job performance reviews are successfully completed and additional pre-requisites are attained. Local, state and military authorities set pre-requisites. The certification exams and practical objectives are handled through the Indiana Board of Firefighter Personnel Standards and Education. Topics and objectives covered include but are not limited to: Evaluating member performance through established performance standards, evaluating job performance, identifying problems and developing policies and procedures to manage them, develop a project or divisional budget, describe the process of purchasing, including soliciting and awarding bids given established specifications, prepare a news release, describe procedures for conducting fire inspections, determine point of origins and preliminary cause of a fire given pertinent data, produce operational plans given an emergency incident, develop and conduct a post-incident analysis, given multi-incident and post-incident analysis policies, procedures and forms, review injury, or health exposure history, given a case study so that action can be taken, and the ability to communicate in writing.
