This program exceeds the State of Indiana requirements for IFSAC certification which can then be exchanged for DOD requirements.

Fire Officer III requires the pre-requisites of Instructor II and Fire Officer II

This program is based on the second edition of IFSTA Chief Officer and will fulfill requirements for meeting NFPA Standard 1021 Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, 2003 Edition.

The fire service has long been lax and needed to have more involvement in general management principles. Now with the Fire Officer’s program outlined from NFPA 1021 the fire service seems to be coming of age. Fire Officer I and II got you this far. Now you are ready for the next step.

This program is developed following the NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, 2003 Edition and the IFSTA, Chief Officer, 2nd Edition.

The instructor will lead you through the course objectives with a heavy background in fire service management utilizing past history situations, leadership and other guidance. Actual case histories and scenarios assist the student in understanding the course objectives. Upon completion of the basic course requirements, students will be eligible for DOD and/or National Certification (IFSAC) as a Fire Officer III, provided a final exam score of 70% or higher is achieved and course job performance reviews are successfully completed and additional pre-requisites are attained. Local, state and military authorities set pre-requisites.
