2006 Emergency Action Guides on CD-ROM
The 2006 Edition of Emergency Action Guides are available on CD. The CD contains all the guides as PDF files. The CD also contains the Emergency Handling of Hazardous Materials in Surface Transportation and the 2008 Emergency Response Guidebook. The CD also includes high quality graphics of all the DOT’s colored placards. The placards can be copied and pasted in other documents for customized training programs. Designed for the emergency responder, this CD provides detailed chemical identification and emergency response information for more than 264 chemicals that are shipped primarily in bulk in North America by rail or highway. Each section contains detailed information which includes the applicable DOT colored placard and National Fire Protection Diamond, chemical physical properties, protective equipment, emergency first-aid, and various spill mitigation techniques and consequences. This information is crucial to the emergency responder technician who is forced to make response decisions that may affect people, property, and the environment. The CD also includes high quality graphics of all the DOT’s colored placards. The placards can be copied and pasted in other documents for customized training programs. REQUIREMENTS: The CD operates with both Windows® and Apple®. The CD contains Emergency Action Guides, Emergency Handling of Hazardous Materials in Surface Transportation 2008 Edition, and the 2008 Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG2008) as PDF files and operates directly from the CD. The latest version of Acrobat Reader is included and loads automatically upon insertion, provided the computer is set to automatically read the CD. Instructions are provided to load Acrobat® Reader manually, if needed. |
